Granite Mountain

What fun! Our friends Wayne and Jane came to visit for a few days. They’re the folks who sold us the condo a couple of years ago. Besides the pleasure of their company, we learned about a few new things to see.

One of those things was the Granite Mountain Loop. Faithful readers will have seen a lot of desert photos on this blog. I’m not going to show a lot more here. But I was immediately struck with differences in the rocks (more rounded, less jagged) and the vegetation (more agave, flax and trees).

The trail is generally wide, free of rocks and not too steep. No wonder the bike riders like it. We saw more than usual.

Resting beneath the rock at top center could be a bad idea!

Notice the rock pretending to be a Saguaro in the next photo.
